How does one build a sandcastle?

They told me that sand can be turned to glass and tastes crunchy.
This confuses me.
Why has sand castle architecture never developed beyond what gravity allows it to be?
Is a sand castle perfect once it is destroyed? (by sea or obnoxious kid)

Yes it sucks, wish it was otherwise, cloud castles would be nice.
Maybe we should study soap bubbles more and gases in that case.

1.Some water to dampen the sand so that it sticks together.

2.If you are over 10 years old a total lack of dignity although not an absolute requirement is still considered a plus.
