In some verified hashes, in the file name it says "retail", can someone explain what this is please? Is it an American thing? Thanks.

What country you from? I'm from Australia and I understand it, as the same version that is been sold in stores.

The "retail" designation is used to show the difference between an Advance rip, and a store bought copy. Retail rips should be complete, tagged properly, digitally encoded (no line in rips), with cover scans, and should always be mastered. Many advance copies are unmastered, some are even recorded from a CDR distro copy.
