Ummm, maybe a move into private trackers? Some trackers specialize in movies and some in apps. Plus, a tad bit more secure than public trackers.

If you're looking to try out private BT sites but are unable to get an invite, you could look at torrentbytes and bitsoup. They are both frequently open for signups and are great 0day trackers.

iLT was open last I looked too
1337x looks promising, like other have mentioned Public P2P is going downhill, sites are getting sued/closing down etc.
Private trackers are also starting to shutdown rapidly.

ILT was my first tracker, and a great one. It's good for people that are just starting with private trackers, like it was my case when I registered. Lots of content, good speeds, and easy to seed on. I really felt the loss when my account was pruned due to inactivity this year.iLT was open last I looked too

Those sites are almost always open for registration, and they're great for private tracker beginners.
