I dont have much in my documents and they arent thumbnails. It totally freezes and my backround shows up and just stays there until i restart the computer.

your pc shouldn't do that,
and I really don't like ram programs, but you could try one and see if you get a improvment
I think Idel ram is the one someone told me to use a few years back, could have been a dream
so check download.com for ram manangers

I would try to work it out without one first.

Have you got the latest Windows updates n stuff?

When it goes to your desktop, if you press CTL-alt-delete - go to file - new task - "explorer.exe"

Will that bring up explorer again? if so unfortunatley you have the hardest problem to troubleshoot a explorer problem. But i would probably start with the db file in you my documents folder, alot of times that is it. You will have to enable hidden files to see it.

wow every 2 weeks!!!!!!! it will take a whole sunday to install all my progs if i do that!

But im pretty sure his PC runs smothly!

try changing the theme to windows classic.

i would remove windows messenger from your computer that will speed things up real nice!. i have found that widows messenger connects to the internet quite frequently with out your permission and hogs alot of bandwidth . try it you can always reinstall it.
