Ras Not Loading

I can't set up a dial-up conections on my Windows XP Machine I have a modem and it is installed and the PC sees it. Telephony is also started any help would be appreciated.

hmm...you went to the create a new connection right?

Yes I did and it gives me an error 711 but my Telephony Service is running

remove the telephony from the device list and then try installing the modem . another thing to check is to make sure the modem is fully seated and that any special connections ie cable to sound card are on the right pins

Thanks for the suggestion but I actually got it fixed. I installed Windows XP Service Pack 1 and now my RAS is working perfectly.
