Thread: Help With Converting

1. #1
Hita all, how goes it?

As of right now, I'm using eovideo to convert avi to mpg but seriously whats the best out there for converting, EO has alot of mistakes with synchronisation and the newest version is slow as hell.

and is there an all in one converter/ dvd burner?

Gracias
Draconos

The best I'd say is TMPEGEnc.

try acp... have a look at www.kvcd.net and go to the forums. once there, look for the huge section on this program.

it requires TMPEGENC installed (get it from http://doa2.host.sk)

Then, when you load the program, go to the settings tab, and click "use Tmpegenc Quantize Matrix" and you can make normal vcds (mpg files) or try a film and see if your dvd will play kvcd...if so, then leave it as it is, and it will be better quality.

this program does everything for you:
it extracts the audio,
encodes the audio
encodes the movie (video) file
sticks the audio and movie back together

so no lost audio or out of sync probs

I only see the option under "Video Settings" to change the quantize matrix , with two option's,.. "tmpgenc 2.510 standard" and "tmpgenc 12i cg".

I left it set to kvcd after I installed it, could that be an issue? If so which setting should I use?

Captain, do you have the latest version? 0.9.990

if not, try that.

as for the matrix options (which are indeed under video settings) i have 10 altogether.

i think that the first one...tmpegenc standard is the one for doing vcd's.

if your player supports kvcd, then leave it on that, it should work. (if your player has played a kvcd before, then jackpot)

Also, i had a "Connect issue" with tmpegenc, but upgrading tmpegenc worked (if you dont get the prob, then ignore this...youll know if it occurs )

Back on track if you're using the newest acp, then i think that you sholdnt have a/v sync issues...check this, if not, we can have another look

btw: if you reply here and i dont get back in a couple of days pm me, dont often come to software world
