Well I got my own counter-strike server. Its quite fun actually. First I recommend you run the "Dedicated Server" on a second computer, and not the one you are currently using. I recommend at least 700mb of ram, and a amd athlon xp 1.8 ghz processor.

Then you will need admin mod. I have gotten it to work for 1.6 but I don't think its supported. Then install and read how to use it in the guide. Set your passwords and shit. Then download statsme, ping booster (optional, I use it though), and others if you want. It took me about a day to set up and learn everything. Good luck.
