Mb To Go With..

i need a pretty cheap mb.. but obviously not a crappy one. Dont really want to spend more than 50 on the mb, as i still have to buy ram and want to keep my total purchase under 250.

also, anyone know anything about ecs motherboards? i see them being advertised a lot.

Microcenter the other day had a 256 SDram for sale for only 14 dollars!! (Orginal price 34 dollars)

I don't know why you are considering getting the P4 @ 2.4 GHz with the 533 fsb. That is a rather unitelligent purchase, in my opinion. That chip does not support hyperthreading.

It would be a far better purchase to get an AMD Athlon Barton XP 2500+ for appx. $80 USD; that way you could get an excellent motherboard. That Intel chip you want is beaten by that particular chip in almost every benchmark I have seen.

It is your choice, though.

How the hell do you exspect to buy a P4 at 2.4 Ghz a mobo and ram for 250...dont seem possible to me really..unless u dont want much ram...buy the 2500+ like adam said...great value! leave u about 150 for mobo and ram...

no i understand that amd give u more bang for ur buck, and i was planning on getting one.. then i read this and saw the video. Overheating

does the new amd athlon xp's fix this? I really dont want to end up with a fried motherboard.
