Thread: Will Napster Survive

    i see napster is up and running and its not even free, who would be dumb enough to pay for napster while kazaalite is here. Kazaalite rock and we all know that and there are many other free P2P progs and i was just wondering if napster gona survive or not (napster was the first to share shit) in todays market/world cos all those free p2p progs.
    anyway what ya all think?

    I would be surprised if it lasted long at all, although at this point is probably used by those the RIAA scared away....

    Depends how much their overhead is. It might stay afloat. Look how many thousands bought KG, thinking they were legal. Lot of dumb folks. If it's my gig & I keep the costs down. If it makes money who cares how much.

    I'd be interested in the hard numbers of what their setup cost & projected monthly costs will be. If anyone can link to some facts. But I could see napster grossing income of $100k-$700k a month. So if they're mean & lean. Keeping costs to $50k-$70k a month could work nicely. Remember a lot of people still buy their music. And napsters got great name recognition.
