Thread: Removin Unwanted Files

    i got 2 movies dat for some reason i cant delete becuz everytime i try to delete it i get a msg sayin dat the file is bein used by another program but the problem is it isnt bein used by any program dat i have opened. so wut do i do to remove these unwanted files???

    try exiting kazaa, then go delete them

    or try deleting using the file browser of a program - if you have nero right click the file in nero's browser and delete

    if none of the above work use a batch file in the directory

    eg "del *.dat" <---*make sure the "*" is the filename

    can anyone explain why that is though ? i have the same probs sometimes but sooner or later i am able to delete them

    tis 4 am here so brain shutting down lol i know xp has this prob and there is a registry fix.......somewhere but i think basically xp sorta reads the whole file checking out what is sorta thing thereby locking the file while it does so....

    Is the file an avi ..and your o/s win xp.If yes,,its a small buy in xp.If you search google you&#39;ll find a reg fix for it.And on dvdrhelp.com

    yet again:

    1. Open up regedit
    2. Goto HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT&#092;SystemFileAssociations&#092;.avi&#092;shellex&#092;PropertyHandler
    3. Delete the "Default" value which should be "{87D62D94-71B3-4b9a-9489-5FE6850DC73E}&#092;InProcServer32"
