What can we do as a society?

1) Make counselling available freely to people who find themselves attracted to children. These people could freely go to these councellers and discuss, try to make them see WHY they are attracted to children as I have been told that around 90% of the time these people were abused as children themselves. (this does not mean to say if you were abused you will become an abuser).

I think this person (no pun intended) is pretty smart. I've thought about #6 and wonder if that's the reason the government hasn't followed RIAA's lead and gone after them.

I'm not sure, one way or another, how those people think, but as a heterosexual, I've thought about what I would do if heterosexuality was banned. Probably spank the monkey and look at porn a lot! Think about it...

Anyway, fuck all the psychobabble... Here's the main reason the keylogger idea will NEVER happen:

Kazaa Lite was created because Kazaa Media Desktop had spyware, which is what a keylogger is. If Kazaa MD and Kazaa Lite both have Spyware, which one are you going to choose? If Kazaa Lite had a keylogger/IP reporter to log certain keywords, RIAA and MPAA would force them to add thousands of names to that list. Guess how big Kazaa Lite's download becomes? I'm not going to update to Kazaa Lite 2.4.4 if it's a 50MB download because it's got thousands and thousands of copyrighted names in it, and I'm going to be reported if I search for them. Because you know once Kazaa Lite or whoever develops the technology, RIAA, et al will turn it against them (us). Two words. Fuck. That.

Lastly, they don't have the source code to Kazaa MD. At least, that's the reason the mods here give whenever someone comes up with an amazing idea.

You really want to fight CP/KP? Get a hacker, and go do what I said, but rather than taunt them with Windows Messenger, hack their system and wipe their drive.

Ways to catch Pedophiles (do ur research on the followings):
1. EHAP (Ethical Hackers Against Pedophiles) (legal)
2. a hacker program called DIRT (Data Interception by Remote Transmission) available only for law enforcement agencies-hard to find yet doable. this program does not harm the intended pc in any way. (illegal to have, use, copy, etc....)
3. stop by ur local police station and ask "what dept handles child protection from online pedophiles so I can help?" or similar. (legal)

The best way to stop CP is to get the community involved

The reason these scum get away with it is because
It is illegal to possess cp even though:
a) You were dl it to show police
B) You didn't even know it was in your possession (wtf????)

How the hell can you be sure that it is cp unless you see it for yourself on your own computer. By then YOU are a criminal and you will be arrested if caught.

How the hell are these scum going to get caught when the only taskforce trying to stop them involve 100 investigators world wide using file share programs.

And the people who are caught, all we know is they have a cp file on their computer. They may have never ever had the intention of ever sexually molestering a kid so what were they guilty of? If you tried to download harry potter and got cp instead, does that make you unfit for society?

We should be trying to stop pedophiles. Without pedophiles, there will be NO cp. And by getting the public involved, there are many more people who can witness and expose these scumbags without risking life in jail for "possession".

Look at all the campaigns that would not have been successful without public involvement? Every country has it's "most wanted" shows, and they have led to many arrests! Anonymous, no questions asked and rewards. Sure, a few sickos get cheap thrills from other people's pain, but if they try it, they will get caught!

Sexually molestering children or assisting it, and selling of cp should carry a lifetime in jail. But mere possession should simply warrant questioning, not having somebody branded a pedophile in the eyes of the public simply because he moved into a house with cp in the attic.

It was said on another thread: How is this a victimless crime? How would you like a video of you being raped watched by perves all over the world...again, and again, and again.

cp is not a victimless crime but simply having a cp file on your computer does not make you a pedophile.

IMO: A zero tolerence policy is why there is so much cp. It is very hard for pedophiles to be caught as society is forced to turn a blind eye.

Here's an idea for all you crazy mofos. Someone on the Disturbed board was talking about this.

Get a video camera, and videotape yourself talking shit about child molesters. Videotape some really obscene stuff that's legal to have. Get a bunch of these videos.

Now use something like TMPGEnc to cut them up. Mix them up, so you have mixes of several of these. Do this until you have about 10GB of these videos.

Now encode them to Divx AVI so that people without AVI Preview have to download the whole thing before seeing it.

Open Kazaa Lite's search filter and highlight all the kiddie porn words. Right click on them and hit Copy. Share the files, and paste the KP terms into the Description and/or keywords of the file. Make a fitting description. Share away!

I should find the guy that did that, and get him to come in here and post hashes to the files that are already being shared, so we can help get his out faster, quicker, and to more people.

Also for the record if you should be so unfortunate as to find such files in your posession*, search Kazaa for Evidence Eliminator. Set the options as you see fit BUT be sure to go into the last or second to last one... set it up for 9 passes (7 is DOD standard) and the write method for Random (DOD standard). This will take about all night and then some to wipe an entire drive's free space, or it did on my 7200RPM 80GB drive.

* Back when I was using Windows 98 and letting just anyone use my computer, someone in fact did use Kazaa to download some of this stuff. It was on my old computer. But I upgraded to Windows 2000, put a password on it, and thought because I reformatted, that all that crap was lost, but then found out that no, it can still be recovered. Evidence Eliminator wiped that drive two or three times, plus it had been reformatted a few times, so I think it's clean. As for the pedophile, he ended up raping some 8 year old girl but got away with therapy and house arrest, and he doesn't have to register as a sex offender, because he's under 18 (he's like 16 or 17). His mother's gone mad - she thinks the girl seduced her son... whatever... Needless to say, nobody uses my computers without my supervision, I don't care who it is.

That's one reason I'm not for an all out attack on people *downloading*. I think we should be going after the people that are consciously sharing this stuff or worse yet, making it. And I agree those people should get life in prison. Also, if the DOJ/FBI/CIA were to do to KP distributors on Kazaa what the RIAA is doing to music sharers, a LOT of them would stop. I mean, getting caught distributing music is cute. You distribute movies, you're cool. You distribute software (esp. Windows) you're really cool. But if you distribute KP, you deserve life in prison. If any of them download, but don't share, well, it stops there doesn't it? Because as soon as they share those files, pop them. How many people can be sharing KP on Kazaa? And then, why not bust them all?

I agree with you 100%, I would also like to thank you for an intelligent post in a subject that normally gets 'hang them, kill them, crucify them' for anybody who argues against the norm.

If you were caught, the police would give you the 'likely story, haven't heard that before' look.

It should be like this:

Molest a child: Jail
Assist in molesting a child (providing child, house, etc...): Jail
Making or assisting in making child porn: Jail
Selling child porn: Jail

For computers it is alot more difficult due to LANs, multiple users, other people putting them on computers that aren't theirs. If somebody has not signed up for a child porn website using their credit card, or they are not the owner/moderator of such a site, then how can you lay guilt on somebody?

All you know is that IP address accessed a child porn file. You do not know who or if there was intention. I think it should be the following:

Owner/moderator or member of child porn site: Jail
Sharing more than 10 child porn files: Jail(for the person who put the files there, but might be difficult to prove as described above)
Sharing less than 10 files: No action.

The above will:
a) eliminate pedophiles
B) eliminate child porn rings and distributors
c) decrease the amount of child porn on kazaa
d) allow the public to safely delete any files 'accidentally' found or put them on a CD and forward them to the authorities (with directions to how to obtain them) without risking jail.

If you do share it or participate in it, you won't get caught.
If you don't share or participate in it, you shouldn't get caught just because you were in the worng place at the wrong time.

This zero tolerence policy needs to be reviewed. I think society is grown up and intelligent enough to make this into a fair law and involve the public without stupid people thinking the authorities are encouraging child porn by making such a move.
