Grand Theft Auto 3, because all the mothers didnt like the whole GTA 1 + 2 thing but the graphics didnt show much, but when everyone heard of the new improved GTA 3 they all went nuts over it. So its obviously got to be GTA3
yea, there were parades of how inproper gta3 is. lol. they thought that fucking a whore, then when she leaves, u can kill here. they thought that was just too immoral [/b][/quote]
yeah its not right to kill hookers after shagging them. its best just to let them leave.

didn't the first fsp:s (like wolfenstein3D, doom1 etc) get a lot of rant about them beeing pro-violence, pro-it's-ok-to-go-around-shootin-people-in-the-head

but I agree GTA3 is one of the "worst" ones
(not from my point of view )

When Hitman II Silent Assassin came out there were quite a few campaigns to ban it. I think some countries have banned it completely

if you haven't played Postal 2 GTA3 and BMX XXX. then dont try and argue and leave your vote out of it. i have played all of them and by far its Postal 2. it has been banned in more countries and the company cant even put commercials up about it and your cant find it in alot of stores like you can with GTA.

Thats funny, because I havent even heard of it, whereas I dont think any one who lives in a country that has electricity doesnt know about GTA1 to Vice City.

GTA3 had the most attention, GTA3 was up on alot of news stations, papers and bla bla bla, GTA3 was openly discussed by polatitions so technically GTA3 is more controversial by the fact that it was noticed more and had more going against it.

Postal 2 was probably banned by the countries Censorship Guild and nothing more.

I just read some news that the relatives of some victims are sueing sony,take2 and rockstar games. Because some teenkids in the us played GTA3 and decided to take some of the action outside...shoting at cars with rifles they had stolen killin some people.
can any1 confirm it?? (I'm not from the us so I don't know how true this is)

that makes me cast my vote at GTA3

The game itself was very controversial when released in England.

I feel your maybe looking at it the same way i am, however i would say mortal kombat, was it not these two games that paved the way form the more controversial ones

Curiously GTA was the only game, i know of, debated about in the house of lords in the UK

I'm surprised that no-one has mentioned the most contraversial game of its time (and one of the most contraversial of all time) - Carmageddon.

Anyone else remember the backlash in the UK when that came out?

Otherwise - GTA, GTA3 and Vice City all deserve to have nominations. GTA got a lot of backlash from media like the Daily Mail. GTA3 got some as well, but not as much as GTA did at the time. And Vice City...well let's put it this way; I think the attention it got on news shows like BBC North-West Tonight became excellent publicity for it on the day of launch

EDIT: Forgot one - Special mentions have to go for State of Emergency. Not as good as others as a game, not as much contraversy as others but it got more than the average level for a game
