I don't know about this, but what I know is that jews, because of their religion were often excuded by the european christian societies & that's why they could only be bankers, cos chistians though money was someting dirty.

The word "bank" come from the spanish word "Banco" which means 'bench"
In the middle age, some jews had the idea to stay in the frontiere between Spain & France, to change travellers's money. So they stayed in the frontier the whole day siitting on a bench doing their transactions.

lol, that's an old joke, but still good, only those who enjoy when something is free of charge can laugh at it. Others think it's about Jews. As if getting anything free was an abomination to Gentiles !
