Bad news, there is no such thing as Internet privacy laws. Each country area has their own privacy laws. Which nearly all of them being extremely grey. As far as I have seen from my quick google searches Canada's privacy laws only cover data collected.
A lawsuit againist me on this matter, is well highly unlikely as to sue me, it would need to be in a Scottish court. To go with a defamation case, which would mean he would need to have the money he is suing for up front incase he loses, which he would. To go for a privacy lawsuit would most likely fail since the site isn't hosted in the UK.
