I got another hard drive with NTFS partition. How do I copy my old hard drive, that also has NTFS and XP installed? I need an exact copy, long file names, etc...

    Can anyone help me here?

I don't want to have to burn disks and all of that crap.

Here's what I used to do in Windows98....

My pc had 2 hard drives. One old (with windows). One new with a new partition. With a floppy disk, I used a very small program in DOS mode to copy all files, folders, subfolders, hidden files, long file names, etc...

An identical copy!!!! The program is LFN, but does not work with NTFS partitions.

Very simple and easy. Took less than 1/2 hour.

you dont burn a disc using ghost? you install it and then you use the clone function and it reboots to dos and copies the disc "as is" from either partition to partition or h/drive to h/drive or a mix of the two.

Ghost is really fast too, especially if you use the boot disk thingy.
Copy > Disk to Disk > Select Source > Select Destination
    Done.

this post is guaranteed 100% parrot-free

There is another good little program that does exactly that. It is called CasperXP and it runs within Windows XP as a normal application and it makes a 1:1 copy to another hard drive. You can choose to copy single partitions or the entire physical drive! It copies boot sectors, hidden files, alternate data-streams, encrypted NTFS and basically everything else. I used it to do a disk to disk back-up off all my files and I downloaded it from eMule.
