So this morning when I woke up, I put in a cd to listen to while I was getting ready, and no sound! I've since completely reinstalled my Fortissimo III drivers and updated them, I relized that if I turn the speakers to full blast I do get sound, but its like I only have them on part way... All the plugs are firmly in place and I was wondering, did my speakers just crap out?

Nope no mutes, Nothing was changed at all, I leave my pc on non-stop. I went to bed, and when I woke up, it was like this.

The speakers have been making this popping/thumping sound for a couple of days though. But they aren't now, thats why I figure its the speakers crapping out.

Its a possibility, but seems a bit odd that both would crap out at the same time, which seems to rule out maybe a connector inside BOTH of the speakers has came loose or unsoldered. (happened in a shower radio I had, but it was only one speaker, and my sis dropped it )

Also, is it all sounds that are quiet like this? Or just Playing CDs.....

    All sound! Not just CD's.

The speakers are connected. If the one connected to the computer messed up, wouldn't the one that was connected to the other speaker?

just borrow someone else's speakers & check it out...or even some headphones.
If it sounds right, then it's your speakers, if not then...
    it's something else.

I don't know what the deal is, but the speakers just pop REALLY loud and the music started blaring, and scared the piss out of me.

Seems to be working fine now, but seriously, wtf?
