Thread: My New Sound Card

  1. #1
I bought Hercules 5.1 speakers and i needed another two ports on my motherboard for all the speakers to work.(MSI K7N420 Pro) Today through my letterbox my new Six Channel soundcard arrived.
    (A C-Media L-8738-6c).So:
    1. i opened up my PC and removed the CD1 sound Cable from my old card and put it on my new card.
2.Put my computer back to gether
    3.Installed lastest drivers
4.Followed my Speaker manual telling me which port to put where:
    (I) left and right into (green plug)
(II) Rear speakers into (black plug)
(III)Center and Sub into (orange plug)
    5.I did as i says
i can only get sound coming from The green plug!
Please could some one guide me through The steps of getting them all working
    Many thanks

As I said I have the 4sp it put an icon near the clock like a fan also in the Media Rack there is one called C-Media audio config.
To get 4sp from mine the rear sound comes out of the line in hole once configed.

    Installed lastest drivers
You do mention the above but not software.

All I did was put the cd in and it booted to a menu then you have no choice but to load both the software and drivers, I persume you loaded your drivers when Windows found the new card,if should be on your cd.

Don't forget mine is for only 4 speakers. Just had a look at the cd and its quite large over 45 megs total including DirectX parts.
