    the best and most secure is via hushmail.com . It has an encryption of 2048 bits. that means it is almos humanly impossible for anyone to read in what you chat with your friends. Aol and trillan offer encrption software too. I do have to say if you dont encrypt your messaging, any one with the right packet reader can read your messages. Also goes the same for anyone running a server it goes through.

    So...small maybe what you are not looking for, but husmail is very simple and runs off of Java alone.

    well i'd have to say msn but i havent used gain b/c i cant get my internet to work on my linux os but my friends gonna come help me out w/ it
