Thread: Windows Problem

  1. #1
OK, so my computer crashed for some odd reason, wouldn't start up, but I still had all the stuff on my hard drive. So, then I accidently installed another copy of WindowsXP instead of overwriting the old one, so I need to know how to delete the old installation.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

OK, here's my second problem. On my old Windows installation, I made my user account's documents only avaliable to my account, and other account couldn't access them. So using my new installation, I can't get into them, and I can't use my old installation cause it doesn't work.

    Please help meee!

Call Bill Gates and demand a refund.

Failing that perhaps one of our esteemed tech mavens will happen along and be able to help.

Just reformat, and once you get a fresh and perfect instalation of your operating system & programs save the whole thing on 3 or 4 cd using Norton Ghost.

what if u log in w/the same username and password? will that allow u access 2 the directory? and if so, move it 2 another partition temporarily, and format and start over again - just 2 have a clean install.

oh yeah, i tried that once clocker/max hedrum - he said "no" -

ummm - when u re-install it, it gives u the option 2 re-install over existing or start anew - if u start new, it allows u 2 format the drive in any file system u choose (NTFS or FAT32).
