Spectranet. Shared dsl.
Rs. 1000 (21 US$ approx.)
some test said 32\232 (dont know what that means) I get a dl speed of 3-8 KB/s (depending)
I live in India.
Sounds more like dial-up to me. [/b][/quote]
well, first of all, i dont think dial-up has an option of unlimited surfing and you end up having to pay hefty phone bills if you surf too long. If i pay more i can get higher speeds but im a cheap bastard.
Its a broadband connection provided to several people through a copper wire.

Well I guess you're right. Even very slow broadband is better than dial-up. It's always on and doesn't tie up the phone line.

In the UK.

NTL, 600k(download), 128k (upload) costs £25 ( $37), NTL Cable Modem. Get average download speed of 68 k/s. Far better than BT/AOL/Freeserve

But the best deal can be found at http://www.bulldogdsl.com/ , You get 2Mbits/s (download) 400k (upload) - evenings and weekends, and 512k all other times, for £30 ($45). I'll be moving to this service once NTL contract expires.

But be warned they charge £50 connection fee, if you are considering moving to this service.

First of all thanks for all ur replys...

NTT b-flets 100MB connection

no cap, nothing,

3500 yen a month about US$35
This has got to be a mistake right??

100mb thats a dam OC-3 connection, they cost like $30000/month in the USA.

You could host a good dam gaming server on you computer!!!

you would need your own personal hardline for that,

My computer cant even transpher data locally at that speed, has to be a mistake!!

Gio Internet:

£18.99 per month, 3 month minimum contract, not tied into purchasing their equipment, £55 installation fee, no port blocks, no port throttling, no time limits, no disconnection etc..

http://www.giointernet.com

~ EDIT ~ Yes, I've heard Sweden are far more advanced, as broadband coverage is concerned.

Aurora Cable Internet
2880down/640up theoretically..
54.99 a month but thats because we dont have TV cable with them..

No Caps but on their website they said 5 gigs down 1 gig up a month i did more research and the liscence agreenment was written back in the mid 90's when there was not much content.. they even have a FAQ about Kazaa ! so it doesnt seem like they condemn filesharing.. i asked the reps about caps, and there are no plans for putting on any caps (*knock on wood*)
