a 250mhz jump is quite a bit, you will need some good cooling, you cant just ramp it up as it will get way to hot, especially under load. you may be able to get about 800,850 with standard cooling.
although i dont know to much about overclocking.

i have 2 normal case fans, plus the power supply, and i have a Tt i think volcano, dun remeber, but it will handle the cooling.

Sorry, I can't help you. Get a new motherboard and CPU or a whole new computer. It's not worth the effort to try to overclock a 750 Duron in a Compaq.
Those machines are not made to be tweaked and overclocked. Build yourself you own PC next time.
