YOur local phone-company should be able to offer the cheapest...My local company charges me 35$ for 1.5mbit dsl... while bigger companies would charge 44+ for the same service.

Who's your local phone company and where you live?

MY local phone company is SBC. I use the 29.95 plan but it lasts only for a year and after a year it's 39.95.

    This thread makes no sense.

What's cheapest/available in my area has no relation to what may be cheapest/available in yours.

Go here and do your homework ( assuming that you live in the US, of course, a fairly important bit of info that you neglected to provide...)

ok. let's c. no more bitching. now, where do u live?

and i would go with cable instead of dsl. it's slow, expensive, and buggy. while cable is so much faster, cheaper, and easier to use. the only reason y dsl came around is cuz with cable, u might have to share the line with ur neighbor. but wtf. i'd go with the faster and cheaper.

I've used cable for a few years now, and I've always heard the same thing, but I've never had a problem with my connection slowing down. Seems if the cable company doesn't have too many people on the same node. Then it isn't a problem.
