I've been a member there for over 3 years, and I never had any issues you speak of.

It's possible that you didn't have any issues because you knew as much as they did about high-def, local area networking, and other stuff. However, in a NYC high school, they never taught me about that stuff.

I was in the HDB chan when you first joined there, and iirc you mainly asked stupid questions that any 8year old could've answered within 30 seconds with the help of google. And most of them had nothing even remotely to do with high-def or encoding, so half of the chan just laughed or facepalmed at you ... suffice it to say you were a good source for amusement back then, but after a while it did get pretty tiresome
