U use it for what.
So I presume I combine them in TMPGEnc, and then it is ready to write to CD (VCD)? I'll give it another try and see if it can run any faster.

You have alreaddy encoded the movie to mpg 1 right? The audi just did not go with it correct? No point in ncodeing the film again use Besweet - google it. To convert the wav to MP2 (it is a little bit awkward to do but you will figure it out) then go to file-mpeg tools in tmpgenc andunder simple multiplex take the mpg file that you have for video and the mp2 you made an multiplex them. That should sore it. I do no let tmpgenc do my audio any more.
What you say is exactly what happened... video OK, sound non existent.
Cheers
I'll give that a try mate

I cant even decide upon the correct file to download. I have a command line version which doesnt look too friendly....
Andy
I presume I would also need to divide the movie into 2 so that it can fit on 2 CDs?
Perhaps I should just download movies already presented as cd12 and cd2....
Andy
Do you have Gspot
Use it to see what codecs you have and what the movies requires.
Virtualdub will extract most audios
Audio - direct stream copy
Compresion- NONE
Coversion -44100Hz
Save as wav
It will not work with Audio,s with unkown tags (this is found by opening file in Vdub and looking in
File - file information
Make a note of Frame Size to decide which template you want to load
IE, 23,970 =Videocd(NTSCFilm).mcf.
Audio
Compression (see if unknown tag)
If it is unknown, Get a copy of Goldwave4.26
Open AVI in Goldwave
Deflashing starts (sometimes it looks like the program has crashed just giv it a min).
I now maximise the sound cos some the latest VCD have had quiet audio.
Save as wav.
Use the new wav in tmpgenc with original AVI.
Decode whole movie and split with program like VCDcutter, if you split in tmpgenc you can sometimes get sync errors.
Also check enviromental settings
VFAPI plugins as some AVI need these to be adjusted.
Abit long winded but each part only takes 5mins 9except Tmpgenc Decode (if you are not doing anything else on PC change tmpgenc Priority to high.
Good luck
Like I said it is a bit trick to get going, but once you do it is the best for this type of thing. get the coman line version, the download the gui. Put them in the same folder and open the gui, there will be a spot to tell it where besweet.exe is. Then go from there.Originally posted by Andy D@13 November 2003 - 14:57

This is all so that you do not have to re-encode the movie file becasue that is a bitch.
Mate if you're not to sure ..it could be easier just to use tmpgenc to encode the audio seperately.
Open tmp ,goto file>new project.Load the avi as normal, choose es audio only.
Press settings>audio:
Sample frequency 44,xx
bitrate 224.
Start.
Once finished just join the video/audio as described by toddiscool
For the futue, theres no need to to extract the audio. If you're having trouble with audio.Goto file >enviro settings >vfapi plugins>increase the direct show filter.
