I've never liked Stuart Pearce and I still don't.

I've always wrestled with the question of whether professionals should be allowed to participate in the Olympics.

I'm still sort of against it but that stance is softened by the fact that basically of anyone that's talented in any sport that "matters" is a professional in all but name anyway.

Yeah, no-one cares who wins the footie at the Olympics, I can't even remember who won the last few times.
Pearce is all; 'I've got a duty of care to select the best players' when the only reason most people bought tickets is for a chance to see some superstars of puntsphere.

Yeah. An Olympics without people competing who are professionals at their sports would last about a day and a half and have a combined audience of around 17 Venezuelans and a few single mothers.

Puntsphere definitely shouldn't be at the Olympics but it will fill a load of stadia and recoup some of the obscene amounts of money spent on things that no one cares about like shooting and judo and swimming and cycling.
