Thread: I Keep My Computer On 24/7

1. #41
I wouldn't dare try it. My sister says we should always turn our electrical appliances off completely (not leave them on stand-by) because otherwise it might cause a fire in the house, and waste energy. She has young children in her house. Her family just moved into a new house recently, I gave them my old computer, TV and VCR, some games all for free, and she doesn't want it ruined it's the first decent house she's ever lived in (apart from mine of course, before she moved out of our mum's house, where I still am !&#33

BTW: I use an ATA/IDE drive for almost 24 hours a day but I do a weekly disk-to-disk backup of all my files on an identical drive that is mostly off, wrapped in anti-static wrap and locked up in a fireproof box, which sits in another room. Call me paranoid but I never lost a single byte of data!

No, only about 120 GB of DivX movies and mp3s that I don't like to loose because of a stupid disk crash or something like that.

Anyway, nice response you gave me a good laugh.
