Being English I wanted the Scots to win and also the Welsh because I wanted as many "home" nations in the Euro 2004 tourny as possible!

But I do wonder how many of them want England to win the Rugby world cup on saturday?????

Not many!!!!!!!

if there were more English people like your good self ( of if the English media were at least ) i'm sure outside support for England would be greater.

I personally, usually wish them well in any sport, but it pains me to hear them brag constantly when they actually do.

England vs Germany video anyone? i mean how long did it take to let that one go.

Look at the whole history of invasions, bloodshed, ethinc cleansing etc and you'll see a reason why.

That, and the fact that the British National Anthem (which just happens to be the same as England's) includes a line about "rebellious Scots to crush". And we're expected to sing that.

Apart from that, I don't support England because I don't like their style of play; they tend to be rather negative and defensive in attitude, which makes for an unexciting match. Their performance in the group stages in the 2002 World Cup shows this up - scored 2 (one an undeserved penalty), conceded 1. In three games? Henrik Larsson alone has a better strikerate.

edit: just realised that you were talking about the rugby... same applies though, England don't actually try and play rugby - their tactics are "give the ball to Jonny Wilkinson and he'll score all the kicks". A boring, negative way to play rugby.

God save our gracious Queen!
Long live our noble Queen!
God save the Queen!
Send her victorious,
Happy and glorious,
Long to reign over us,
God save the Queen.

An additional verse is occasionally sung:

Thy choicest gifts in store
On her be pleased to pour,
Long may she reign.
May she defend our laws,
And ever give us cause,
To sing with heart and voice,
God save the Queen.

Are you sure Lamsey?

See to me when the Scottish say things like lamsey said it makes you sound JEALOUS or something!

To me Scotland NIreland Wales and the Rep Of Ireland are all my second international teams! If England can't win it I hope that one of these DO!!!!

and as for Henrik Larsson last time i checked he was'nt scottish!! and until he comes down to the premiership and doe's the business he'll always be a maybe player????

Saying things like that is another reason we don't support english teams.
