Thread: torrents blocked

  1. #1
Hi! The settings for the internet where I am got changed and torrenting no longer works. I'm not sure if it's a firewall issue or if they actively blocked it. At any rate is there any way I can get around this? I tried to look online but most methods are either outdated or no shut down.

You could move to a less fascist dictatorship that looks more benevolently on your thieving ways?

Country and ISP info would be a help. Can anyone else you know with same ISP or in same area still use torrents? Most likely it is just you. Do your .torrents in your client give any error messages when running? Have you tried a different client (if uTorrent 3.3+ then try 2.2.1 or 3.1.3)?

If you have clearly identified BitTorrent traffic as being blocked (this is good), uTorrent with bt.transp_disposition set to 10 (or 26) and forced encryption may help.

Thanks. @anon can you set bt.transp_disposition in the general settings of utorrent or do I have to edit a particular file?

    It's in the advanced settings.
