Raid Software

Anyone use FreeNas or Flexraid? Or know anything better?

I've been using FlexRaid for past few years and have had many problems...Recently been having losing hard drives that go into RAW mode and lose all data and the partition information.

Wondering if anyone has made a switch from one raid software to another and if there is an easy way to accomplish this. Or just go buy New drives and move content over to new system.

In particular, what kind of hard drives are you using? This is actually a very important question when talking about a RAID array.

I have been using freenas for a couple of years now. never had a hdd fail. i recently updated to freenas 9 and it has been rock solid so far.
