Thread: worth converting older transport stream rips to mkv?

  1. #1

    Question Mark

I have a large library of quality ts files (1080i transport stream) I got years ago like The Abyss. Would it be worth converting to mkv till its released on bluray or would quality be an issue? What's the best program to accomplish this? Thanks.

provided you can demux them and get the raw streams of audio and video out (not sure the program for that) you can use mkvmerge to put them in an MKV. I do this for any .mp4 i get so it will allow better FF/REW while streaming and subtitles work in that format but no other on my tv
