Thread: on line backup solutions

  1. #1
Does anybody know if a reputable on line backup solution vendor? I've got some stuff backed up to external storage but I am looking to back up some stuff online as well.

Something like carbonite but not carbonite. I have a friend who has it and let's just say I am not a fan.

In the past, renaming your backup windows_2000_source_code.zip and putting it inside a shared folder worked wonders.

Really? IŽd never imagine that, and that is still safe?

I know you specifically said not carbonite, but I've used that for years and have had no problems with it. And as someone with a large backup set, its one of the few that doesn't have a max backup capacity or charge extra for larger backups (they do throttle speed of backups once you hit like 200GB, but i'd rather that than pay extra).

Did your friend say what they didn't like about carbonite? Maybe i can address those specific issues?

Dropbox is by far the best.
