Well I have a few that are completely free and retention goes back to day one (there is some fakes but they are usually marked pretty quick) and unlimited downloads

Are you saying that the paid or invited NZB sites are uploading all there own files on Usenet servers or binary groups for there members to access only ?? Well how are they doing that if that is what you mean ?? I always assumed that the files are uploaded (first not re uploads) by the person closest to the source who gets the original files (or leaked) , and return may change the name (gibberish names) add a NFO (hopefully) and it is found by searching the Raw search way or loading headers, and then producing the NZB to point at the files.
Is that Wrong??

I think you do have a valid point , Free or Paid , I don't think it will deter people to join here and it is not wide open if you do come by this site by accident. If that is what you are saying GOOD POINT.

I am not a veteran here like some , but my use in this site is chatting in the forums , it is not my main source of Usenet downloads. And the big problem here is I don't know really what the sites main purpose is ?? I mean it is called File Sharing TALK not File Sharing NZB so what is the real main priority of this site ?? (No disrespect to the owners , to me it is a great forum talk site That is my main purpose here). Even if we make suggestions it is up to the owners how they run there site , I can honestly say I don't pay there bills , so If I make a suggestion and they like it great , but if they don't approve?? it now becomes my choice on what I want to do , to me that is cut and dry.
The biggest problem in any site private or public... none are perfect , or at least I haven't found one.
Do I think the posters here do a good job?? It is fine for the odd one I do pick up here , but my private NZB sites are quicker in most cases , and my public one I use is about the same upload time as here(the ones they choose to upload here) , just at that the other public site I go to , the selection is much larger , meaning a lot more alternate Usenet binary groups to choose from , and way better retention.(and as long as your Usenet provider can pick up the files)
I have followed a few of your post and you have mentioned that you do Mega Uploads and Downloads (with very few takedowns). Well I don't see it here , especially compared to private sites , And you must be doing it somewhere else , So I am assuming this is not your main site either.

You are a Retired Staff Member ..I would assume that if there was a fellow FTA member drunk in the middle of the street , and the truck is barreling right at him , you would sacrifice yourself to save him. That is what I would call loyalty

In my case...
Speed and Other tv programs that are not even posted on this site are important to me because I prefer to watch the shows on the same day they come out , not 2-3 days later when they are posted here(and that does happen).And if I did want to watch them while they are broadcasted , I do pay for cable (a lot of people this is there main source of viewing movies and shows , they have no other options), I just prefer to watch the shows without commercials.
So if that is not a priority to you ?? Great !! I am glade for you... To most people who join private NZB sites , I would think that would be one of the major points they are there. And I hope we both agree this is not a private site ?? So what happens here is not my major concern , being , it is not my main NZB source.
It is also nice to see your concern on how people feel....With your effort of doing these polls...

I've lost any track of thinking along the lines of this thread (i.e., "Do you use FST as your primary NZB source for TV shows?")
Except that exactly what 'TV shows' are you talking about? Occasionally, when I miss something off a subscription service I'll find it here, sometimes weeks afterwards, so it hasn't been 'whacked' in all that time.
If it's some scripted show that's decent, I'll simply do what 99.999% of folks do, wait until it becomes available on BluRay and process it then (first for myself, then post it for whoever).
If you're talking about over the air 'free' TV shows, I don't quite get the reasoning, I'm afraid, as most of those are so poor as to remind one of 60's fare like 'Gilligan's Island' or 'Brady Bunch'. Both of which are, I might mention, completely available by subscription service at extremely low cost (as will current 'free' TV shows in the same category).
If one has bought into the 'cord cutter' mantra, and refuses to pay anything more than the cost of drive space for these 'shows', then I guess paying $x for one of these private groups access makes warm fuzzies for some folks. Go for it, but I'll bet again that simply paying a little bit for the subscription services (one way or the other) probably is cheaper and easier in the long run, rather than paying for the expanded internet access and all the other 'group' fees and machine costs that add up.
But whatever warms your cockles.
And no, I don't post the nzb's of what I upload here on FST; it's all quite obvious to anyone who does simple searches with the publicly available search sites, or by simply watching the raw headers on selected newsgroups.
