Would it truly be asking too much to ban everyone that doesn't even pretend to care what happens on this site?

It's not a job so it doesn't cost anyone anything.Think of it more like an honorary degree for contributions made.
As for logic or sense obviously none of us would be here if either of those applied so I strongly suggest you discount them.
