Do Romanians ever pay for anything? I pretty much picture a land where businesses steal from neighboring countries, people shoplift those items from the stores, then steal a car on the way home. And by 'home', I mean any building that someone happened to have vacated so they could go shoplifting.

Actually it's other way around, currently their fertile land is being sucked up the corporations in the west at the grand scale. And this scam is not limited to Romania.
