I have been reading lots of doom and gloom articles the past few days about how intrusive Win10 is and I am wondering if I should avoid it all costs? Anyone have any pertinent info on how this'll go? Rumor has it sites will be banning win10 users from access... Is this going to carry over the most of torrenting? And is it truly impossible to disable all this spying stuff in the new OS?

When the corporations(M$) offer something for free better read the fine print
They have the potential now to use personal information against us (using win 10).
Sure a lot sites ban win10 and other won't depends how security conscience sites are.
google windows 10 spying their is plenty to read.

How about Google windows 10 spying and how to remove/disable it??

what sucks is you may have to install 3rd party software to remove/disable in most cases right now......

And I am still just a reader, I have not installed win 10 yet....

There is a good guide on how to restore your privacy in Win10 here:

There's no way yet to stop Win 10 sending data to MS, even if you disable telemetry completely (the default options to disable the shits is not available in Win 10) using kernal hacks/3rd party warez, Win 10 will still be talking to MS.

I think though it's only for development of the OS as they've also removed the option to disable automatic updates. The updates will be based on the data received by MS.

Also about 15+ "spying updates" already has been backported to windows 7!
So be very careful when you install new updates!

My work has pretty much banned from getting it installed. I haven't tried it but what I've heard from it I really don't want to

I'm just curious, has there been a way to circumvent this stuff posted anywhere yet?

There's a fuckton of programs to disable and/or remove these "features", as well as laundry lists of hostnames and IPs you can block as an additional measure. Even if you aren't using Windows 10, there are updates you may wish to blacklist (or uninstall).

I wouldn't be surprised if commercial software for this task showed up, just like it happened Windows 98, Internet Explorer's shell integration and 98lite.

Thank you for all these links, I won't forget to read all about it even if I think MS or Google or whatever else, it will become harder and harder to prevent big companies to spy on us ...
