..., this is serious shit!
Today, while I was riding my bike without a helmet, a pothole appeared right in front of me, I couldn't avoid it and I fell, crushing my head. But I believe that all of humanity's great discoveries were brought to light in a similar way.
So, I was wondering, if the speed of light is almost 300000 km/s and the Earth-Moon average distance is about 384000 km, when you look the Moon you actually see it how it looked 1 second ago. Right?!
But let's look deeper into cosmos. This year scientists found a galaxy 13,1 billion light-years away, so we deduce that the Universe is a pretty big place.
According to this video, 4,5 billion years ago Earth was nothing but "a boiling bowl of liquid rock, an endless ocean of lava". Wouldn't be interesting to see how our planet looked like if we could beam 4,5 billion light-years away, because when you look to a distant star, you see back in time. I must say that I've seen many docs about galaxies, worm holes, neutron stars, dark matter and other shits, but I never found anywhere that approach.
