as of about 7:00 the main BT dns servers went tits up. this has left me with the problem of only being able to view sites in my cache.

i have tried adding 2 other static dns servers into my router config but it has had little effect.

my friend recommended some network software that resolves names but i dont think it exists does anyone else have a clue about how to solve this problem.

short of installing your own DNS server, adding a new one to your router should have worked.

Try these and see if they connect

    DHCP Server . . . . . . . . . . . : 24.69.255.195
    DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . . . : 24.69.255.243
    24.69.255.244
