I see the number of users are dwindling ..... could it be because of the new virus?

    The W32.Spex.B.Worm - quote from Symantec :

"W32.Spex.B.Worm is a worm that spreads through the KaZaA and iMesh file-sharing networks. It can also terminate security programs and system administration tools, steal CD keys of computer games, and perform denial of service attacks."

It messed up my pc and had to restore it. The virus prevents you from accessing your CD writer.

I tried to burn my very first vcd 'cause watching the extended version of LOTR on the comp isn't the most comfy thing to do. Pinnacle and Nero both told me that there is no CD-Writer on my pc!

Could this virus be responsible for that??? If yes, how do I get the f#%$& thing off my computer?

And yes, I do of course have AV software.

Try system restore to a point you know you had them (for XP and ME).
