I left the outside door open for a few minutes and it must have got in.

When I came back in, I probably scared it and it ran up the stairs. Next thing, I came up the stairs and sat down at the computer. After a few minutes I heard a scuffling next to the waste paper bin a couple of feet away. Scared me half to death.

Then I saw it, a little field mouse. And it saw me. Damn, those things can jump.

I quickly shut the door so it can't get out of the room.

So there we are, it's in here with me. I've got a trap somewhere but I'm not very confident about them. Last time one got in it was here for weeks before it suddenly disappeared.

Anyone got any ideas on how to get rid of it?
    yeah, dont lock it in

I am trying real hard to say 'no' to that question with a smirk on my face

Actually I can - No, I wouldn't hit them with a hammer. Crack them over the head with a baseball bat, if I had to. Pay the coppers to break down the door and beat the s*** out of them, maybe if the squatters are annoying enough to justify a truce. Burn the place down, maybe if it ain't mine place. But never would I hit someone with a hammer.

    It's a pretty nice hammer

I didn't like killing the mouse but I didn't have a hammer or a baseball bat to threaten it with. The last one I had was just like a squatter (or a student), nibbling at everything I left out.

With Christmas coming up that just wasn't an option, so it had to go. Thinking about it, it acted exactly like a squatter, the moment my back was turned it was in there.

I think I was pretty lenient really, if I had realised it could have been a student mouse, I would have thought about a really painful death.

Sorry if I've offended you, Weemouse, but if your friends can't control themselves then that's just too bad. (btw, they don't like cheeez.)
