I'll be getting a new hard drive in a couple weeks, and I want to put xp on it. I use 98 now. I'll download a cracked version of xp, and I also have a friend who can give me one. what I want to know, how do I get the service packs and windows updates for it? can you get them from microsoft itself? I mean can they tell that you have a pirated version of xp if you try to connect? and if not, what about on here? I've seen the service packs, but what about the various updates?

Yes mate at the ms site.If they give you trouble,change the key with xp keychanger.Or theres plenty of other sites you can download the updates
