I've heard that you can get datacables to do all sorts of things with your cell phones, like downloading ringtones.

i have a nokia 6590i, which has a built in infrared port which i use to update calendars and contacts to and from my pc.

what can i do with the datacable that i can't with infrared? is it worth getting?

AFAIK, you should be able to everything with IR that you can do with a data cable, it's just an alternative form of data transfer.

    Nokia Canada

Edit: btw, I've checked, you don't need a data cable if you use IR.
