c clocker, i'm not the only 1 with good hdd temps.
You think that 49C is a good HDD temp.
This explains a lot.

Abu, if it provides you comfort during long, lonely nights to believe that your free POS HDD cooler is capable of warping the laws of thermodynamics, then far be it from me to disabuse you of the notion.

Well now... all this is making me want to know what my temperature status is. Anyone know where I can get *decent* software from that allows this?

SpeedFan is a good start.
Abu, please refer to the first post again, peer carefully at the image there, and then tell me that you are getting similar temps.
I would believe you...

"Disclaimer
Ok! I guess I should write a few lines here. This program is aimed to the power user. To the one who knows what he's doing.
I've known of no real problem caused by SpeedFan, but may be it's due to the fact that once it made the PC explode and the user disappeared in the blast, thus being unable to report :-)
Anyway: SpeedFan can be extremely useful, but you should first watch its behavior before setting and forgetting it. "
I could die though No, seriously, cheers for that
No pain, no gain.
Who told you this was easy?
They lied.
