I'm not sure what OS you are running. Have you tried visiting the website for new drivers? Once you've done that, and it's still messing around have you tried different CDR Media?

How old is it? Can you return it to the shop for a replacement?

and one more thing the readme.txt says that this flashing tools can be use under windows Win98/Me/2000, it can't suit to Wun95/NT, can this be the reason that driver is not updating?

Both these tow kinds of flash tools can upgrade the firmware to the same version,
DOS version only can work for pure DOS envirnment, not Windows MS-DOS mode.
And the Windows Version only can work under Win98/Me/2000, it can't suit to Wun95/NT.

Are you sure you've tried this driver? Your firmware supports this one only.

Firmware Version Detection Tool For MS Windows

This software runs a check on your system to find out your firmware revision. However, because you were smart enough to post a screenshot, I could see that you have a H.BK revision. The link I posted on my previous post should do the trick.

Don't forget to try another brand of CD-R or CD-RW as some may cause the same problems you stated. If you're from the UK, try visiting CDR Media to purchase some decent priced media.
