Thread: Check This Out: I Ordered One

  1. #1
Hey, just wanted to let you guys know what I bought...only $40 bucks including (2 day) shipping...

You likee? Well I wanted something to make me feel cooler than being enough of a sucker to pay 500 dollars for an 9800 XT...so this was what I bought...

It should arrive in two days...I will let you know how well it works. All I want is something that will cool my card down so I can elevate to XT speeds and not have to worry about overheating my card.

Looks interesting. Looking forward to hear your results.

It might be a good idea to look into some small heatsinks for your video RAM.

    Very interesting concept.
Have you already discovered what your temps are without this unit mounted?

I wonder if that fan is pulling air in from the outside or pushing case air out?

    Keep us posted, please.

If you look closely, you'll see it's a radial fan. So air is drawn from inside the case and expelled at the rear.

I could tell that the fan blades were angled oddly, but not which way the darn things were supposed to operate.
I pretty much have to hold a fan to my face to decide which way it works.

I can't seem to find those ram thingies...that sounds like a good idea; considering the fact that the cooler does nothing for cooling the ram.

The reason why I decided to purchase this particular item is because I am, well, unsatisfied with the Stock ATI 9800 pro cooler:

Everything runs fine at stock speeds, but once I overclock to speeds of the XT and beyond, I get a little nervous...

Well for one the card gets real hot. And you would figure that when overclocked to 412 core and 365 memory a new cooling system would be called for
