I meant DMserver.exe, could you check if the process is running right now, and if so, it might be hidden.Originally posted by Azzz@20 December 2003 - 01:06

Also did you try the manual removal instructions I PM:d you, try going into regedit and doing exactly as it says.
Also your other problem can possibly be solved with the link I got you, have you tried that, 'cuz it just happened to someone else, so it's probably the same thing that's described in the thread.
OK people i think ive deleted DMserver.exe all i had to do was stop the process by pressing ctrl+alt+del and then i searched for it and deleted it so now the only problem is the CometCursor

Danger, I am a computer idiot. Read at your own risk.
I also got the "comet cursor" somehow, and this is how I deleted it with my limited computer skills.
First, I ran "search" looking for the word "comet". I tried to delete it, but it said that the program was running.
So, I did control-alt-del which showed my running programs. I found the "cometcursor" and selected "end task".
I could then delete the program. I deleted almost all the things "search" had found.
To be sure, I then used "search" to find all .exe programs added since I noticed the comet cursor. An .exe program with a cute icon next to it (like gator), and which you do not recognize, is probably spyware.
So I deleted all recently introduced .exe programs I was not sure of. I knew that I hadn't intentional installed any for months, so I felt safe.
This worked, no more comet cursor.
If you do delete something important, you can do a system restore and that is easy if you are running XP.
Aren't we in the trust tree, thingey?
SUCCESS: after i deleted the DMSERVER.EXE program i used ad-aware and it deleted the cometcursor spyware but this time it worked i scanned again with ad-aware and spybot and there wasnt a single trace of COMETCURSOR yipeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks people sorry for my temper
