    You're atacking yourself

Get rid of norton and get a real firewall.

Maybe one that makes at least a bit of sense.

Who knows. With Norton all you can do is scratch your head and wonder. It's gotta be the absolute worst firewall for false positives.

You might have the welchia worm running a tcp syn flood but are you running IIS or another server protocol?

I'd still toss norton in favour of something reliable.

    Replace Norton to ZA.

I used Panda Antivirus 2004. Works quite well I think.

I got NIS 2003 free with my mobo, but I got intrusion alerts like, every 5 minutes. Then it kept nagging me to renew my subscription, which ends in a couple of months time!

    Fools. They'll never learn.

I'm with ZoneAlarm - either the free version or Pro.

As for that intrusion, it wouldn't hurt to have scans with both an Antivirus and an Antitrojan. I usually go with NAV and Anti-Trojan respectively.
