The client says that the download speed is proportional to you uploads does that mean its the amount of bandwith uploading(eg. 10kb/s) or the amount that u specify to give(eg. unlimited)??

Why cant i have more than one BT running at once??

The amount of actual upload bandwidth can only reach the maximum you specify and the download speed is proportional to what you are currently sharing, but technoically the download speed depends on other factors as well. So, just leave the maximum upload bandwidth at unlimited and you should be fine. It doesn't use too many system resources.
There's no reason why you can't download more than one torrent at a time. I'm usually downloading a ton at a time so I us an all-in-one-window client. Try TorrentStorm
