4.8 ... only because the book is 5/5, and this was missing some of the stuff from the book (the Grey Company, Aragorn looking in the Palantir *voluntarily*, Saruman, Imrahil, Beregond, the Houses of Healing, Eowyn & Faramir, the Scouring of the Shire {can see why they had to miss that one})... we'll see about the EE DVD (should have *at least* Saruman, the Houses of Healing, Eowyn & Faramir, or so I hear) ...

hehehe, the book kinda ruined it for me...did anyone else get fooled when the screen during the end went completely blank for a couple of seconds or blacked out several times? everyone was like, "what?!?!"

Considering beforehand i knew that certain bits had been cut i still came away thinking i'd just watched the best film of the year in my opinion.....now i know the dvd will be even better, with all the cuts from the book inserted...
