Thread: Video Tape To Vcd?

    Hi im looking to put my video tape wedding onto cd as i am worried the video will wear out...........

    does anyone know how to do this? and what cables i need+things?

    it will be of great use...

    I have seen this service advertised in pc magazines.
    If this is a one time deal it may make more sense to have it done, rather than invest in the necessary parts to do it yourself....

    cant you just buy one of those dvd player that lets u record as well....seen it at a few places. you can put in your vhs and record it to a dvd w/o needing the use of a computer

    yea I bought one of the very first that came out drme20 I paid over a grand for it, but much cheaper now, probably 500 or so maybe less

    check if your video card has video in , if it does, you can make a lead for less than a fiver,(£), if not, maybe one of your mates might do it for you, if you were a mate of mine, i know that i would do it for you, probably take a few hours, depending on length of wedding vid. you could also edit and add transition effects that enhance the original , making it look more professional.

    y post twice, but now that he mention it, u could get a tv tuner and hook your vcr up to the cable jack and record it to your comp while its playing

    wats the cheapest one that will record mpg2 quality (dvd quality) using firewire or usb 2.0? i have lots of tapes lying around that i need to convert. no, i'm not buring dvds, i'm encoding with xvid and storing them on my monster hard drives. lol. i'm purposly trying to fill 240 gigs. not anywhere close yet
