The impressive performance figures of the Veyron remain unchanged: the production version will have a top speed of 406 km/h and accelerate from a standstill to 300 km/h in under 14 seconds. The innovative W16 light alloy engine develops a phenomenal 736 kW (1001 bhp) at 6000/min and is installed in the mid-engine position ahead of the car's rear axle. Because of the W configuration, the 64 valve, 7,993 cc engine remains compact at 710 millimetres long and 767 mm wide, yet still produces a maximum torque of 1,250 Newton-metres with the help of four turbochargers.Originally posted by 3rd gen noob@27 December 2003 - 16:29
the veyron is just a luxury car with quad turbos that happens to go pretty quickly, whereas the LM is road-legal racing car

my puny 660bhp will take your 1000 bhp POS on a track any day
<span style='font-size:14pt;line-height:100%'>BLAH</span>
<span style='font-size:14pt;line-height:100%'>Wayne Rooney - A thug and a thief</span>
put it this way:
there are a couple of Japanese R34 skylines which produce 1200bhp at the wheels
they would absolutely destroy the veyron and LM in a straight line, but which would you rather have?
<span style='font-size:14pt;line-height:100%'>BLAH</span>
